Spreading Seeds is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) located in Wilson, NC.

In January of 2014, we opened to fill the gaps in humanitarian care because we realized too many people were going without the necessities of life.  We are here to serve our Veterans, single parent families, individuals recovering from addiction, and individuals struggling with hardships.

Spreading Seeds provides food through cooperation with the NC Food Bank. In addition, we provide household items, small appliances, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, furniture, guidance counseling, empowerment classes, case management, fitness, nutrition, community connection, and resources.

Spreading Seeds serves individuals experiencing life hardships.

Because Spreading Seeds does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, or age, services will be made available to individuals of a lower socioeconomically status.

We need Volunteers  to help with:

We want to help as many people as we can and your support will bring more resources to those we serve. We also want to empower those we serve and to instill the values of teamwork.

Reward Volunteers is a web-based program that tracks and rewards the efforts of volunteers and the organizations they serve. With Reward Volunteers, volunteers log and track their hours, and may post their activity to Facebook. The more hours accrued and the more sharing that occurs, the more chances volunteers have to win prizes for themselves and the more chances their beneficiary organizations have to win money and prizes as well.

Fill out the Volunteer Questionnaire and submit it. We will contact you for upcoming opportunities.

Then sign up for Reward Volunteers to keep track of your hours and win prizes.

One way is to provide “Surplus Food” to Spreading Seeds. By redirecting unspoiled food from the landfill to Spreading Seeds, corporations can support our neighbors in need within their local communities and reduce environmental impact. Non-perishable and unspoiled perishable food can be donated. Donated food can also include leftovers from events and surplus food inventory.

Another way is through our Corporate Alliance Program. This includes Single Donations, Pledges, Event Sponsorships, Other Events, Employee Engagement, and Corporate Event Food Donation.

We will promote our partners through events, flyers, and media buys.

All donations can be brought to Spreading Seeds at 3904-J Airport Drive, Wilson NC 27896. We accept donations Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Yes, if you have a Donation for us that is TOO BIG for you to drop off we will pick it up.

Please call (252) 520-0081 to set up a pick-up day and time.

When you call we ask that you give us a description of the pickup so we can prepare for the appropriate labor.

• 1-couch, 1-chair, 1-loveseat, 1-coffee table, 2-side tables, 1-throw carpet
• 8-chairs, 1-dining table, 1-hutch
• 15-bags of clothes
• 1-microwave, 1-toaster, 12-dinner plates, 12-dinner bowls, 12-salad bowls
• 1-refrigerator
• 1-king boxspring and mattress, 2-pillows, 1-king sheet set, 1-nightstand
• 1-toilet, 1-sink, 1-tub
• 5-bags of food, 1-5 lb bag of potatoes
• 4-bags of cleaning supplies

Absolutely, YES! We will send it out by post office mail to you or email it to you within a week of your donation. To save time and money we prefer to email it but it is your choice.
